Odessa
Fredericka,
Here are a few of my favorite
pictures beginning when Odessa first arrived. You can select
any for
your site to post along with
Mary's letter if you wished.
Regards,
Carole
Dear Fredericka,
Hello hello hello!!!!! This is
the story of little Baroness Von Odessa. The BEST horse in the
world. She arrived at my house Sept 2005 when I was 6.5 years
old. I was SOOO excited that I couldn't
even sleep that night. I heard my
dog Heidi barking and knew she was here. I ran out to the barn
in my Pajama's and saw this cute
little fuzzy horse in the stall. Little baby O. She was just
5.5 months
old. I didn't want to go
back to bed and, the next day after school couldn't wait to brush
her. All the
kids in my 4-H group love her and
argue over who can take her to a show. She gets lots of blue
ribbons and the big champion
ribbons. They are hanging up in my room next to her pictures. She
is so sweet and gentle.
People always come to pet her and take her picture. I love that
she is my
horse.
It is really hard to take care of horses. I pick her stall, scrub her
buckets and brush her everyday. Work work work. I take riding
lessons now, and Mom lets me ride her Balthasar, but I
want to ride Odessa! Well, a few nights ago, mom said I could sit on her
for the first time. FINALLY!
I was so excited and a little nervous. Odessa turned to sniff my boot
and mom said she looked very
proud to have her little girl on her back. We walked around the ring a
few times. I have been sitting
on her a few times now and can't wait to ride her more. Mom said we need
to wait until she is a little
older first. Mom is teaching me how to ground drive Odessa, but it
is not as fun as sitting on her. I
have lots of things I want to do. I love trail rides, but boy you should
see Odessa run and jump! I
want
to learn how to jump with
her. But that is still! a few months away. I wanted you to see
a picture of
my very very first time
on her back. I love her so much! Mom says Flying W Farms
is the best
and only place we will
ever get our horses. I can't wait until we buy horse #3
from you!
Hugs, Mary
