Dear Robin, Fredericka, and Bob,
We are finally finished with a few very busy weeks of carriage activity ! Two weeks ago we went to the Classic in the Pines in Pinehurst, NC for their pleasure show and your children did really well ! Danceadream and Limelight both got blues in the novice division which let them compete in a final class with the pony winners for the championship. A friend of mine with a welsh pony won the championship and Danceadream got reserve...I was so proud of her ! It is very hard when you have horses in the same ring with ponies when they ask for a strong trot. You feel like if you open it up, you'll run over some of the little guys, but it inspires the ponies to show all they've got ! Pat and Limelight then went into open classes all day and they got a large number of red ribbons and the judge commented on how she improved all day long ! On the cross country drive, where you go through scary things and obstacles, Danceadream was 2nd and Limelight 3rd ! Woweeeee !!!!!! On Sunday, there is a marathon drive through the quaint town of Pinehurst and we both rode with Limelight. It is really neat because they announce you as you go through the town square and tell about your turnout and horse !! It was a really fun weekend !
This week we got back from five days at Morvin Park in Leesburg,VA for the Carriage Association of America meeting. We took the phaeton that has been restored for Danceadream and put it in the carriage showcase where it was judged for the restoration work. It received a silver certificate, like Pat's did last year. Whoopee. It was a pile of sticks when we got in at an auction in PA, and it has been under construction since last October ! It is really pretty and big enough for all the large gals ! Pat took Bud and competed in the Traditional Day of Drivng and won for single horse ! He and Bud had the fastest cones course of the day !!! Pat was very happy!!!!! On the last day, I was finally able to hook Danceadream up to her new carriage ! As soon as she was hooked, it rained cats and dogs, and we made a quick loop around the square and got completely drenched and had to go in because of lightning !!!!! My gorgeous new carriage was soaked but should be fine ! Danceadream and Bud were both very good for the entire trip !!!!!! We finally got home Sunday night, exhausted !!!! I will send some pictures of both events but will probably have to send them one at a time because of pokey dial-up ! Hope all is swell with you !

Dear Fredericka, Robin, and Bob,
Sorry that I had to send all the pics of Danceadream singly, but with my pokey dial-up, it is faster ! For a week we were in Aiken, SC attending an Adult Driving Camp with champion driver Muffy Seaton ! It was a ball !!!!! She gave us daily lessons in driven dressage, cones, and big solid obstacles !!!!!!! We got to drive minis, drive great sand roads and trails, learn from a Russian trick trainer, eat at all kinds of strange places, go to a chicken auction, and compete in a Horse Driving Trial ! The HDT had a dressage test with world champion Suzy Stafford as judge, a cones course, and a cross country drive with solid obstacles. I had NO idea what to expect through those solid obstacles and after walking the course the day before, I thought that I'd be lucky to get through them at a walk....yikes ! You had to go through gates A,B, and C at each of the three little complexes. Muffy assured my that we would fit, but I wasn't so sure ! When the time came, Muffy rode as navigator and coach and timer, and ole Danceadream just sailed through ! She didn't bat an eye at anything and had no time or course penalties on the 3.4 K ride !!!!!! It was so exciting !!!!!!She acted like she loved it !!!!!!! It was the culmination of a wonderful week !!!!!! Big Danceadream was a very good girl !!!!!! Hope this finds you all well and kicking !!!!!!
Yours, Gail

Danceadream led in points for our East Coast Horses Circuit even though she missed one of the shows because I was at my mom's for her surgery ! Danceadream was the champion high point horse in the driving division and Limelight was reserve !

I'm getting excited about taking Danceadream to a week long adult driving camp in Aiken, SC that Muffy Seaton does ! Danceadream should really stand out....

Take care and give my best to Robin and Bob ! Love, Gail

Hi Fredericka ! Sending two more pics of Danceadream...you can see she is black in these ! She is doing well in dressage, too. She won her Training 1 and 2 classes this weekend and won a 2nd place ribbon in Sport Horse Versatility. The SHV classes compete through weird obstacles...they are being added to dressage shows around here !

Say hi to all, Gail

Hi Fredericka,  Danceadream is the High Point Driving horse on the East Coast Horses Circuit this year, like Polka was last year !She was the high pointer even though we missed the first show due to my mom's surgery!!!!! How's that for her first year driving ? She is just the sweetest girl ! The other three girls are all living up to what Nightmusic started !!!!! It has been so much fun !
