Flying W Farms realizes that not all of their clients show their horses. A
show home is wonderful but not required; Lots of the champions we have
bred are owned, trained and shown by their "best friend" owners, many of whom
are amateurs. These owners also enjoy their horses on trails, at home, and
as part of their family. "What you breed in, you need not train in."
You are welcome to contact us for an appointment to see our horses
Do you have a favorite name you have been
saving for that "perfect" horse? Our prefix must be used and the word
association for the sire (Prince, Baron, Fire, etc) but other than that we
will be glad to change the final word(s) in the name of any horse you
purchase.
(Example "Flying W Farms Prince------------------- or Baron Von

FIRE DRUM is a horse with WOW!
Fire Drum will be two years in May and
we estimate his mature height at well over 17 hands, probably 17.2 maybe
17.3.
He is from Firedance's last crop of foals. His dam is Excalibur's
Daisy, daughter of our beautiful old Clydesdale stallion Excalibur and
out of Pioneer Daisy Footprint, who was one of the best black Clyde
mares we ever owned. We feature photos of Fire Drum here, with video,
also photo of his maternal grandsire Excalibur.
Fire Drum is an incredible mover, even though
he is on hard frozen rough ground, he never stumbles, he doesn't wing or
paddle but moves straight ahead. He is very correct; perfect top line with
nice long neck, good whither, very short back and a big strong rear end on
him. He has short back and long strong deep hips; ideal for any discipline
especially dressage. Very deep hocks carried well up underneath him when he
moves. Marching walk, with good over-stride from behind. He has natural
self-carriage, show ring presence, and substance; He is built uphill and he
moves that way. Both his eyes are ice blue, awesome! He has plenty of good
clean flat bone and solid feet; His legs are perfect, as you can see in
video.
Best of all, though he looks the part of a
very spirited horse, in fact, he loves people and is a big baby around the
barn,
He would rather be with you than eat his
hay. He loves to be groomed an is great for vet and farrier. No bad habits
and totally sane and sound. He is a very unusual color and markings, this
is very nice horse.
Price very reasonable $7000 or best
offer.

Countessa Von Nightshadows is 50% Friesian
(on both sides) and 50% Saddlebred (both sides).
She has a beautiful little head and cute little tipped ears; very short
back and big strong
HINDQUARTERS; Look at that topline and hipline, wow! she has a super
hindquarters!
She won't be a year old until August and notice how well balanced she is
already. Countessa has an incredible floatiing trot with plenty
of impulsion and extension.
She loves to canter; naturally she exhibits
a " baby canter, " but it is a good round three beat canter.
She always gets her leads, which is amazing for such a young filly; And
she can do flying changes already, counter canter, etc. Very athletic.
She is expected to mature at 16.1 hands. She is sweet as can be, a people
lover and would rather be petted than eat! She absolutely adores people
and comes running to them. She has excellent clean bone and plenty of it,
perfect feet and legs. She is very very gentle and stands quietly for the
vet and farrier. She is already trained to tie, and load in a trailer.
She does her best to do anything you ask, the first time you ask her;
she was imprinted at birth and totally trusting of people. She is very
intelligent!
Her sire is FLYING W FARMS PRINCE ALEXEI,
winner of Dressage at Devon 2009.
You can see more photos of Alexei by going to
our site and clicking on the link to 2009 Devon winners.
Alexie is by Koning (Friesian) out of Saddlebred mare. This filly's name
is Countessa von Nightshadows.
Her mother is Baroness von Nightshadows, own
daughter of our Friesian stallion Baron out of Saddlebred mare.
Baroness von Nightshadows is the gorgeous up-headed black mare we use for
the button on our horse entry page, just shows her gorgeous head and
neck. We included a photo of Baroness Von Nightshadows (Countessa's mother)
here.
Price for COUNTESSA VON
NIGHTSHADOWS is a very reasonable
$6000 or Best Offer
however, the offer will have to
be close to the $6000, this is a very special filly indeed.
**Note: When you see a horse named Flying W Farms Prince (name) you know
that is by Koning. When you see one named FWF Baron von (name) you know
that is by our Baron. When, in future you see a horse named Flying W Farms
Count or Countessa, you will know it has both Koning AND Baron in its
pedigree.

Uriah of Old Testament times
was a very brave soldier yet a kind and gentle soul. He was a totally
loyal, very humble devoted servant of King David. Uriah was trusting and
trustworthy in every way. King David knew he could always count on Uriah .
For all these reasons we named this lovely black horse Baron Von Uriah; He
is also very kind, gentle, brave, trustworthy and loyal. He has a laid back
disposition, loves people and always tries to please.
You will absolutely love this gelding; He has a gorgeous head and
neck; huge black
eyes with such
calm, gentle expression; His back is short and strong with big strong
hindquarters. He has natural self carriage, built up hill and moves that
way! Very deep hocks, well up under him when he moves, and he has good
over-stride at the walk; He has a brisk fluid walk, tracks straight ahead,
no wing and no paddle. His trot is spectacular! You won't find any horse
with better extension. He reaches for every inch of ground he can get.
He has plenty of knee, float and suspension we all LOVE, but wow, his
EXTENSION! You will see that on his video, over and over again! He has
great lengthening, and can smoothly increase or slow the speed of both his
trot and his canter at will. That is very unusual for a horse his age. His
canter is gorgeous, really nice for such a young horse. It is a true three
beat canter, looks comfortable! He always has the correct lead, and he does
flying changes for fun! Really, the movement Uriah exhibits could easily
belong to an older, trained horse. BARON VON URIAH is jet black with his
only marking tiny star. He has tons of Friesian mane and tail already; He
actually looks very much purebred Friesian. Uriah is gorgeous even in his
winter "furries." Ohio gets very cold in winter; therefore, Uriah has a
very heavy plush winter coat in this very recent video.
He sheds off in spring very black and shiny, his coat always glistens in
the sun!
Here is someone's dream horse,
your lifelong best friend and companion!
Folks will assume he is a purebred Friesian and the envy of all your
friends!
Price $6000 or
best offer.
